COVID-19 (also known as the Coronavirus) has had a substantial impact on our daily lives over the last several months. We’ve seen businesses shut their doors in order to keep employees and customers safe, non-essential travel has come to a halt, and wearing masks and gloves when out in public has become the new normal. Within the last couple of months the BC Government has announced their plan to begin re-opening the province in a safe and calculated manner.
In order to reduce the risk of spreading COVID-19, workplaces and other institutions must put measures in place to decrease the number of people present within a given area at the same time and decrease the length of time and degree of contact people are having with one another. The BC Government has provided suggested tips on how to reduce the risk of spreading the virus, these include:
Physical distancing measures – measures to reduce the density of people
Engineering controls – physical barriers (like plexiglass at checkouts) or increased ventilation
Administrative controls – clear rules and guidelines
Personal protective equipment – like the use of non-medical masks
Our team at Lacasse Construction are happy to offer a variety of services to our clients to help in reducing the transmission of COVID-19 within the workplace. In order to assist our clients and the community we are now offering:
Glass and plastic partitions – Help create physical barriers between people by installing glass and plastic partitions throughout your space.
Sanitation and wash stations – Promote a healthy work environment by encouraging team members and customers to wash and sanitize their hands frequently.
Touchless bathroom fixtures, automatic door openers – Limit the amount of physical contact people have with the surfaces within your place of business, thus reducing the spread of germs.
Ventilation – Ensure clean, fresh air is circulating throughout your place of business to promote the health and wellbeing of your employees and customers.
Store/office reconfigurations – Assist with social distancing regulations by reconfiguring your existing space to allow more physical distance between people.
We are here to help all local businesses, schools and shops adapt and modify their businesses to ensure their staff and communities stay healthy and safe. If you are in the process of revamping your space, give us a call. We’d love to help ensure you, your staff and your customers have peace of mind that everyone is being kept safe and healthy.
