The Lacasse team is proud to have worked with Edgett Excavating, which has operated in the Comox Valley since 1975, on the construction of their new office and shop facility. Edgett and the land owner sought out the support of Lacasse to lead the development of the property and the construction of the new commercial building.
Lacasse led the challenging development of the subdivision including handling all municipal, provincial, Agricultural Land Reserve (ALR) requirements, as well as restrictions imposed by neighbouring properties. The project required a water main be brought to the site, as well as the establishment of environmental corridors to allow flora and fauna to thrive around the site.
For this project, Lacasse worked with the design team on options for the building including elements made from concrete, wood frame, and pre-engineered steel. The office features hand-framed wood construction with exposed structural elements and a suspended catwalk. The shop is constructed from pre-engineered steel with radiant floor heating and mechanical service pits.
