Originally constructed in 1967, this building had been recently purchased by the client. The Lacasse Construction team was engaged for a much-needed remediation of the building exterior. A complex project, the building was fully occupied with commercial tenants requiring accessibility throughout the remediation process.
Additional complications included a high-concentration of lead in exterior steel elements. Lacasse worked closely with safety authorities to ensure the steel elements could be removed for offsite extraction of the lead, and then returned to the property.
Walkways with wayfinding signs were put in place to ensure tenants and their customers were able to safely enter the building during the project. To ensure efficiency and minimize disruption, Lacasse negotiated offsite parking and a construction staging area on a neighbouring property.
