Shortly after the purchase of the property, the client onboarded Lacasse to lead the design, permitting, budgeting, and construction of a nine unit apartment building. The task was to construct a multi-family building that would create a sense of community and connectivity.
Lacasse completed variance permit, development permit, and building permit processes, which included leading public consultation meetings and all correspondence and communication with the municipality. Lacasse was also responsible for onboarding archaeological and environmental professionals to obtain the required permitting from the K’ómoks First Nation, BC Archaeological Branch, and BC Environmental Assessment Office.
The completed multi-family building includes thoughtful design and materials, generously proportioned windows, exterior timber frame and cladding details, and high ceilings.
